While I love the blog, I wouldn't recommend the book. She writes about wanting to look very skinny which I don't think is a good message for younger readers (or any readers) and doesn't recognize her privilege of growing up in Manhattan and living in Paris in what seems to be an effort to be relatable. I also felt that the whole book was about her relationship and didn't think that was a good thing to highlight either - would have loved to hear more about her business.
Leandra is so unique because, while she thrives in an industry with a tendency to take itself too seriously, her love of fashion goes beyond image-building, snootiness or pure self-indulgence. Clothes are her medium and she interacts with them as an artist -- you can tell by how she connects feelings and memories so directly with her favorite pieces. Plus she's a great storyteller, unafraid to poke fun at herself and funny as hell.
I love this book. I love her wittiness and and humor. I love the clever and fresh approach she has on fashion. I wanted to become a fashion blogger at some point but played with the idea but, She really made me seriously consider the notion. This is a classic for sure. I also received it super fast. Thanks
This book is pretty boring. I thought it would be more comical because Leandra comes off as very witty on camera.
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. It was less a "how to girl boss" type book and more of just an interesting/entertaining collection of stories. It's well done and I appreciate her sense of humor and writing style.
Brilliant book, love Leandra. You'll read this then follow her and social media and be entertained daily and wowed by her fashion!
her writing is pretty funny - definitely more about love than fashion though!
I love her as a blogger so i was very excited to read the book. I was disappointed with the ending but maybe her next will be better.
