Most of the charts use a variety of illustrative techniques to convey lessons and provide visual interest. Wow!!! Outstanding book on the Bible!!! Great book for new students of the Bible as well as those who have been studying it for awhile. Well worth twice what Amazon charges. I'm now looking at other Rose Publishing products to see what else they have!!!

Excellent charts and fascinating information on the Bible. I will spend hours with this book looking at the fold out charts and side by side comparisons of versions of the Bible, as well as short summaries of each Book of the Bible. So much in this book is top notch and extremely well done with lots of great pictures.However, I have one suggestion and one complaint. My suggestion is on the list of what each Christian denomination believes it would be good to include the hot topics like what they believe on homosexuality and immigration. My complaint is the information on Islam is extremely inaccurate. Having studied Islam full time professionally for over a decade, I can attest that the information here is horribly inaccurate. Learn about Islam on your own. And the only true way to learn about Islam is to read the books yourself and study the writings of exMuslims. The leaders of Islam engage in massive propaganda, and they appear to have been where Rose Publishing got their information. There is a whole short chapter on Islam, but it is worthless propaganda with very little that is factual.Other than the Islamic propaganda, this is a 10 star book! But the propaganda does seriously damage the credibility of the book.

I never knew they existed until I found this book and I've since ordered 4 more Rose books!I honestly don't need to leave this review as so many people have left stellar reviews as well, but I always give credit were credit is due.Aside from the Bible itself, this is my second favorite most valuable book! If the Bible is the road to life, this is the GPS to the Bible!This is NOT a bound book, but a spiral note book style so you can remove the pages and make copies for bible studies and teaching.This book is PACKED with just about everything you need to walk you through scripture, explain the books, history, along with timelines, an easy to follow breakdown of all the books of the Bible, who wrote them, when, where, why.This 10th Anniversary edition contains just about all their charts and maps from other older books I believe.I've also purchased 4 other books of which all are easy to ready, study, follow, and top quality.Couldn't be happier! This book has helped me in my study with scripture GREATLY!

What an absolutely wonderful book. It's not just maps and timelines. It is very well illustrated and simplifies all the right things, along with all the right comparisons of other religions and cults and such a way that it answers questions you didn't even know to ask. They also did a wonderful job in citing scripture throughout.This a fantastic book for any level of Christian.

It is great in the information about Time Lines, analysis of Christian and Cult information, etc.But the maps (for which I was mainly buying it) were sadly lacking in information. Likethe original place and boundaries of the 12 tribes were nothing more than a blotch ofcolor and the colors were too close in shade. The other maps could have been better also.It would have also been nice to see the area of the Tribes that is promised eventually. Just a thought.The information I did get is interesting but I'll have to get another source for more informative maps.

Like the charts and the fact the book is spiral but on the subject of Catholics it says they venerate Mary but in parentheses says ( a show of honor that stops short of worship of Mary. )The dictionary meaning of venerate is:verb regard with great respect; revere.We do not worship Mary!!!! We honor her as we do our own mothers. Mary is our Mother.It also says that :Many priest and members tend to accept liberal, pluralist beliefs contrary to church teachings which is totally false. I just wonder how many other religions that don't agree with KJV are getting the short end of the stick. I cannot recommend the book.

I was expecting something pretty decent, and when I got it I was not disappointed. When I unpacked it, I started leafing through it and I just stopped everything I was doing, and sat down for almost an hour. I really wish it were available in electronic form! It would be so useful on my phone and tablet. Anyway, the quality of the book is outstanding. Very thick high quality paper, in a spiral binding. The content just goes on and on exploring the Bible in ways no other book that I know of does. Highly recommended, planning to buy more for Christmas presents.

I got this book shortly after having watched the first film. The movie really drew me in and I had to have it. Now, altogether, I think I like the film much better than the book, but the novel has its merits too without a doubt.I see a lot of reviews talking about how the characters were without personality, boring, unreadable, flat. In some ways I do understand the frustration. At times it's near impossible to read what is going on exactly, BUT I think I've found purpose to what so many deem madness. I mean, these are kids who woke up in a strange place with no memory of who they are, where they came from. To top it all off, they're trapped in a maze crawling with monsters at night. And no matter how much they try to escape, they can't. They have lived in a place with no idea of what they were, who they were supposed to be, or what they ARE supposed to be now. For me, it would only make sense for a stagnant environment to produce stagnation in the people occupying it. I know that may be reaching a little bit - but it's what has helped me to manage through the book with a peaked interest.I couldn't put the novel down. Overall, I find the concept of the story good. And despite the blank slates of many characters, they are still fairly likable (except for Alby. Book Alby worked my absolute last nerve. He was a complete 360 from his movie self and I have never hated a character so much so quickly. I disliked him more than Gally >:( ). All in all, the movie made me want to dive directly into The Scorch Trials, so it definitely did something right. Honestly, I think the biggest issue that most people can agree with is the lack of personality in the characters. But in my perspective, I can kind of make it work in my head! I look forward to continuing these books.

The Maze Runner? (Rolls eyes so hard she can see her brain) Meh, it was forgettable...and aggravating! In fact, I can distinctly remember the day-to-day struggle I had with the book! Days where I would dread the fact that I had to pick up The Maze Runner and suffer reading through the endless chapters that give you no answers, no purpose to The Maze, no clear objective, annoying and pointless characters that you feel no connection to, and hopelessness.Hmm, okay, have you ever played Monkey in the Middle? Well, imagine you are the monkey in the middle, you have Thomas (the lead character) on one end, and James Dashner (the author) on the other end. Okay, now imagine James Dashner holding a mysterious black velvet drawstring which holds all the answers you are dying to get your hands on. Okay, now picture Thomas and Dashner cackling as they toss the drawstring back and forth over your head. At first, you chuckle and say something like, "Oh, come on guys," then 30 chapters later, while they continue to play their silly game, you give up on the attempt to intercept the drawstring, and crossing your arms you say something like, "Okay, this is getting really annoying."Finally, after 60 chapters, you decide to walk up to Dashner and rashly kick him right on the chin and you shout, "ENOUGH!" And in your disgraceful moment of defeat and frustration, Dashner "thoughtfully" hands over the black velvet drawstring, so as to say, "All right, I'm sorry." You gasp, and then squeal, AT LAST! YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS! You fall to your knees and madly begin to open up the black velvet drawstring, "This is it! This is it!" you exclaim to yourself, only to uncover....complete and utter darkness; yep, nothing. The bag was empty the entire time.Then, as your gaze moves steadily up at Dashner, you take notice that he is frowning, and smiling, and laughing all while staring at Thomas, who is responding in the same manner. And then it hits you, they are able to converse telepathically! What in the world!? Argh!So you get up, take a deep breath, sweep whatever Dashner dust-bunnies have settled onto your jeans and shoulders, and begin to walk away from their wicked scheme; who needs those guys anyway? Rude! But just as you are storming off, Dashner runs up to you, laughing irritatingly while trying to catch his breath and says, "Okay, okay," his arms up in surrender, "I'm done, here take this, you'll want to read this," and just like that, he walks over to Thomas (who is laughing hysterically by the way), they pat themselves on the back, as to congratulate each other, and they walk away.You shake your head in utter confusion and look down at the single sheet of paper resting on the palm of your hand, you unfold it, it's an epilogue. The best darn thing Dashner wrote in the entire book!

This is a horror book filled with nastiness, lack of empathy, and most revoltingly, the idea that it's reasonable and morally correct to torture and kill children in the name of possibly saving the human race. I forced myself to finish it to see if the ending had any redeeming qualities---it does not. A "teaser" for the second book begins with a brother and sister kidnapped after watching the murder of their parents. Apparently many adults, including respected reviewers, can maintain enough emotional distance to enjoy this sort of thing, but I am not one of them. And I certainly do not regard this as appropriate for children, or even teenagers.

Most sets only have the 1st 3 books, it's nice this set has all 4 books. However this is NOT a Boxed set . This is a set of 4 books that are shrink wrapped together with a paper wrapper around the ends & back. It is not in a box, so the books are loose when the wrap is removed.

Emmy van Deurzen is an international authority on existential therapy, who lectures worldwide and whose work has been translated into many languages. She is the founder and principal of the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling in London and a visiting professor with Middlesex University. She also directs Dilemma Consultancy and the Existential Academy, in London and Sheffield. She was previously the founder and first Dean of the School of Psychotherapy at Regent′s College and she was also the first chair of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. It was her initiative in forming the Society for Existential Analysis and its journal Existential Analysis, in 1988, the same year this book was first published, which established the field of existential psychotherapy and counselling in the United Kingdom.

My husband has depression and so we ordered multiple books to read. This was BY FAR the best one. I would recommend this to any mental health professional and family members who have a loved one with depression, not just the depressed person. It shows depression as a tangile problem that can be dealt with and not a mysterious situation that is caused by random uncle's visit or because men aren't crying enough (which some of the other books we read said were the culprit). If you want the facts and you want help, buy this book.

This book gave me an immediate relief, before the reading of which my life was alternating between frantic impulses and actions and bleak, self-indulging days. The book is easy-to-read, and all the chapters in Part 2 are especially inspiring for me. What's especially helpful for me is the Mood Journal, which has helped me reveal what I have been unconscious of, and under the influence of which I have been acting mindlessly, i.e. unconscious emotions. I came to understand the marvelous link between emotions, external stimuli and internal thoughts, fantasies and memories. Also, just 10 minutes of meditation (mindfulness) helps me out when I feel overwhelmed. The most important is that I came to gain hope and confidence for my life, which is relieving and soothing. I thus express my gratitude to the author Richard O'Connor.

This is the second copy we've gotten. So many good tips whether you're trying to help yourself or another person. It explains how you can improve your situation besides using medication. I enjoyed how the writer is a depressed person, so you can tell he really knows what he's talking about and is empathic. Yet he is very knowledgeable and educated about the topic from a professional standpoint as well. He's not just some guy talking about his life story. It's very insightful information. It doesn't shame depressed people but actually empowers them and gives them a sense of commradery. Best book ever on the topic. A real go to manual, not just a one time read.

I have been battling Depression since 1979; I went for help in 1991 and made some improvements, then again in 1998 on the brink of suicide. This time I began medications and a year of counseling until my insurance ran out.In the last twenty years, no one suggested to me a book to read. In the last seven years, I spent over a thousand dollars studying and buying books. This book is the most comprehensive of its type. It is practical. I do not think any book can maintain all the answers on this delicate subject. I am going through a third copy of this book because I took notes and highlighted so much that I could not read my older copies.My second favorite book on depression is called "Understanding Depression" by J. Raymond Depaulo Jr., M.D. A third helpful book is "The Secret Strength of Depression" by Frederic Flach, M.D.Although I am fond all these books and others, only one author spends a sufficient amount of time on exercise and that is Keith Johnsgard; he wrote "Conquering Depression & Anxiety Through Exercise."My hope and plans is to become an advocate for others and myself. Every time I think of one book to help someone with depression, it is Richard O'Connor's Undoing Depression that I suggest. The subtitle lives up to itself: What Therapy Doesn't Teach You and Medication Can't Give You.

I'm not sure anyone will read my review since there are over 100 others. But, here goes anyway.As someone who has experienced depression in the past and one who treats depression in my psychotherapy practice, this is one of the best books on depression I've seen.Not written with excessively technical language or jargon, the author describes what depression is, how it affects people, how the problem is growing and what the causes are, including what has been learned in recent brain research.He goes into detail about the skills that a depressed person must learn in order to recover. Therapy and medication can help but it is also the steps that the sufferer takes that make the difference between recovery and having an ongoing problem with depression. Some of these skills include examining one's own faulty thinking patterns and learning how to change them, taking care of one's physical health (good nutrition, exercise, sleep), making use of therapy, meds, self help books, support groups and getting support from family and friends when able to. It's not necessarily a quick or easy process but is definitely worth the effort. I have seen these methods work.

I read this book after overcoming over 20 years of depression. If I had read it during those 20 years, I probably would not have been able to see that it truly does show the path out. Being on the other side of depression, I can say that what O'Connor advises is accurate. Though every depressive will have a unique journey, we all share the main elements needed for recovery. If you're depressed, trust in the process outlined in the book. The only reason I did not give the book 5 stars is because I think the length and meatier parts might deter someone who is depressed from reading it fully and getting the they need.
