Just like any child, Grace loves to hear stories. For Grace these stories came from her grandma. Once she had heard them she would start reenacting them giving herself the most important parts. (Children will recognize most of the stories and get a kick out of Grace's costumes.)One day the school teacher told the class that they were going to do the play Peter Pan. Who wanted to be Peter? Why Grace of course! Kids being kids told Grace that she couldn't play the part of Peter because not only was she a girl but she was black! Thankfully her mother and grandmother knew that Grace could be anything she wanted to and thus encouraged her. Read the entire book to see how it ends.A truly delightful and inspiring, well written and illustrated book. This book was on our son's second grade "Suggested Reading List" so I purchased this USED from Amazon. I was not required to do a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz

Great book! I gave this book to my granddaughter who is 4 1/2 years old. Her mother was looking for a nice story and introducing her daughter to more ethnic diversity. Her mother was thrilled!

Grace was a girl who dreamed big dreams. She loved stories and acted out the parts from stories she knew - Joan of Arc, a soldier hidden in a wooden horse at the gates of Troy, a pirate, an explorer, a doctor. When her class at school was going to perform "Peter Pan," Grace knew she wanted to play Peter! Lots of other children wanted to play Peter too, so the teacher held auditions to see who would earn the part. Two of her classmates said she could not play that role, because Peter Pan was not a girl, nor was he black. But her mother and her grandmother encouraged her to keep on dreaming. "You can be anyone you want," Grandma said, "if you put your mind to it." Grace worked hard learning her lines. When the audition was over, she was named Peter Pan, because she did the best acting of all the class.What child, what adult really, has not been told, "You can't do that!" and given a long list of reasons why she can't. We all can do much more than even we can dream, so don't let anyone tell you, "You can't."

Fantastic book. Though, I hadn't been aware that dealing with skin color or gender and overcoming stereotypes was the focus of this book and it was a surprise for my 5 year old to read that kids were telling Grace that she couldn't play the part she wanted in the play because she was Black or because she was a girl. She kept asking me "what does it mean that she can't do something because of her brown skin?" I just told her those kids were being ridiculous telling Grace she could not do something good that she wanted to do and that, thankfully, the kids at her school are smarter than the kids in the book. And I'm glad for that!

This is one of my favorite stories to read my daughter! Love the "believe in yourself" and "equality" messages for young girls and BEAUTIFUL illustrations. However buy NEW, I bought used and the condition was poor despite being advertised as excellent.

Great book to teach you child to love there skin there gender and to love themselves.

This is an amazing book for any child to read. I think sometimes only certain people buy books with black characters or girl characters, but this is about the possibilities in all of us and saying NO to people's preconceptions of who you are. Any child or adult will enjoy this wonderful story. It should be in every school and personal library. The characters are accessible and the illustrations are wonderful.

I particularly like the section on hypnotic poetry, a subject I think receives too little attention in other texts; and that I found disappointingly brief in this one.

I am a huge Fan of Rogue! I bet Rogue is actually secretly in one of the hypnosis groups I am in! I am a big fan of hypnosis and Rogue is just funny! Really Rogue goes into such detail with history and explanation that there isn’t any way you can’t appreciate his books...I read a lot and so to be honest I have not finished reading this book yet but it’s a Rogue book! It’s going to be exceptional. I did read the intro of the book and he explains things well and I am excitedly looking forward to finishing this book but anyway much love Rogue I appreciate your work signed padawan!

I enjoyed what I have colored off from this book but I found myself bored with the other designs and I guess I should have read the details of this book before I purchased it, but there were duplicates and I felt like that was a waste for me. I could easily copy these images on a watercolor paper. I didn’t need duplicate designs in the book. Also the quality of the paper was not too good. My preferred medium is markers and they would bleed through the next page.

I usually like more intricate coloring books but this book captured my heart. The designs in this book are just beautiful. I want to learn to blend colors into these designs which are hard to do when they're too intricate. The book by Jade Summer as always are printed single sided so I don't have to worry that I'll mess up the page behind it.

Purchased for a friend who lost control of her dominate hand, due to an accident. This was to help gain better fine motor control of her non dominant hand. She loves it!!! Has helped her.

Jade Summer doesn't disappoint. Great book with a great variety! Comes with access code to dwnload a copy so you can experiment with different color schemes or use on a coloring app on yr device!

The artwork is topnotch, lots of beautiful images on a wide range of topics. I would give it 5 stars if it were on better paper. The paper is workable, but a nice heavy cardstock would make it so much better to color on.

This is a very nice set of tattoos that you can add your own color styles to.The down loadable PDF file is also a big plus. You can print the tattoos on your favorite papers and use what ever art medium you like.

I like this coloring book! After reading mixed reviews I was skeptical, but upon seeing it and starting to color I was pleasantly surprised. Despite other people complaining about it having two of the same picture, I like it in that regard because it means I have two chances to get the perfect picture. This book gives me a good stress release and way to pass the time. I only say I wish the pictures were more intricate like REAL tattoo designs, (Being an artist myself I like to use these sort of books for references and ideas). But overall it is a good book to get you started and I like the pictures.

A very good book to take on a day trip. We thoroughly enjoyed out recent trip to Tanger and this book helped a lot. Obviously written by someone who knows the city well.

As someone whose been to Tangier and a few different places in Morocco I thought this guide really hit the mark.Its easy to read and has some very useful features like the interactive maps, live links and "locals' tips" that make it quite accessible.I thought the writing had a quirky charm with a nice turn-of-phrase giving you nice gems of info but not overwhelming you with unnecessary details.You're given some interesting facts about the city which range from Cinema to Literature to History, facts that you wouldn't be privy to if you just took a leisurely stroll through the streets by yourself.The "locals' tips" are quite witty at times but speaking from my experience, quite accurate. However its the info and tips at the back in the Appendix that you will find invaluable if you haven't been to Morocco before. I probably would have got a lot more from my trip if I had read a guide like this one before I went.If you follow the advice in this guide I think you're much more likely to discover a more charming side to Tangier whether its for a one day trip or as an introduction for a longer stay.

This is a must if you are going to Tangier. I wish I had seen this before I went. It is exactly what I needed. It is short and concise with great maps including links to Google maps.

Short and helpful. Many cruise ships stop at this port for a day and it was helpful to have this available instead of having to purchase a book that included all of Morocco.

Better for pre-trip planning. We had our lodging determined so that was wasted paper. Restaurant guide was good but it's hard to get a bad meal in Provence, with good judgement. Half the book is dedicated to the coastal Riviera which we didn't visit so again wasted paper. Remaining pages were devoted to very general info about numerous small towns, most of which can be found online easily; no insider tips. I wouldn't buy this again nor recommend it unless you want to make pre-trip decisions and plan from a general perspective. On the ground it wasn't helpful to us.

Got it while traveling in France after reading a few pages at one of our B&B's in Avignon. Then we decided we could not live without it for the rest of the trip. It was worth it for the driving/parking instructions alone.

This book really helps cover the back road places of Provence. I am going there in June and I am using this book for my guide.

The author gives us the information about what Calisthenics is, diet and nutrition, how to know own body. This book includes great 50 bodyweight exercises. All instructions are very detailed, easy to follow and helpful. The photographs made very easy to understand the descriptions of the exercises. This guide is well organized and provides exercises that can be done anywhere without the need for gym memberships or expensive exercise equipment. I found this guide very informative and helpful. I liked this book very much and I'm glad to have it on my Kindle to use when I need it. I highly recommend this guide for those who want to be fit and healthy. It is really worth reading.

I got this book thinking it would help me get started in calisthenics. So far so good! I love the pictures and diagrams. Since I am a visual learner, it helps me see how I need to position myself to get the best results. All of the exercises are detailed enough to help out me and other beginners on how to understand the stretches and exercises. I can't wait to fully submerge myself into the field of calisthenics with this book as my tool.

I found this book very inaccurate on the description of this product. It was supposed to be for beginners but then there was a lot of intermediate or advanced exercises in this book, not made for beginners.

Really good book. Easy to understand and create my own program. The explanations and photos are really good. I recommend it to anyone wanting to start out with calisthenics.It would be good if there was a short section with photos of the equipment that can be used or alternative options/suggestions.

Systemantics was probably my favorite technical read of the year for my software development career. Like The Design of Everyday Things, this book is not about software development, at least not directly. This book addresses all the things that are arguably true about systems. The book refers to large systems like government and public school systems, and medium systems like city garbage collection, and even smaller systems like families, or a system for managing a small group of employees. These systems are all set up to solve or at least manage a problem the same way we develop software systems to do the same.The author refers back and forth to these common systems as it explains over 20 truisms of systems, especially large ones. Some of my favorites include: - First rule of systems design: do without out one if possible - New systems mean new problems - A large system produced by expanding a smaller system will not behave like the smaller system - Things are as they appear to be, not what they areThe book is written in a very lighthearted yet serious way which makes it easy to read, even funny. Everywhere, things are not working well and those outside of the systems that are failing are sure they could fix them if only their ideas were universally adopted. However, this book admittedly offers no solution. There is no single method to follow and all axioms are too fundamental for direct application. Rather the axioms provide clues and guidance to awareness of what makes a particular system faulty. The Systematics student, understanding the risk of failure, even catastrophic failure, knows that the undertaking should only be begun where the present evil is very clear and the consequences of utter failure are no more unbearable than the original unsatisfactory situation.

I have a masters degree in systems analysis, and this book tempers the enthusiasm one has upon leaving school. It should be included in the curriculum.

The book came as agreed, even a bit early. Price was good, ans shipping cost was reasonable. Book is very academic, and a bit dated.
