over the years, i have always tried to keep a journal for almost every reason: self reflection, record keeping, mental health improvement, decluttering of ideas, inspiration, happiness meter, running diary, etc etc. i say "tried" because inevitably, a few days or maybe even a few weeks later, i would loose the notebook, forget about the notebook's existence, or straight up abandon the project altogether.for a while i had given up on the idea of keeping a record of my daily thoughts and emotions.and then i opened "pick me up."what's different about "pick me up" is that the (arguably) toughest part of self reflection is already complete: considering the thought or action you need to capture or consider. adam has crammed a roller coaster of reflections, ideas and provocations that really make you think about feelings and emotions you may have otherwise ignored.i keep mine on my desk at work for times when i'm feeling overwhelmed, overworked, or even just a bit spacey and i find myself going back and forth between old and new entries, contemplating how i was feeling a week, a day, or even a few hours prior.if you've ever been interested in keeping a journal or recording your thoughts and feelings daily, this book is for you. even if you're not interested in keeping a journal or recording your thoughts and feelings daily, you will still find great value in what you're inspired to consider while flipping through the pages.all at once hilarious and heartbreaking, "pick me up" is an essential pick me up and well worthy of picking up.

I was quite excited to receive my very own Pick Me Up book. Upon receiving it, I thought it was a great way to express myself and a neat reminder of when I needed to be uplifted. Especially because I enjoy doodling. My issue with the book is that it keeps asking me to share pages or to market the book by posting passages on social media. Which I understand is important to the author for exposure and sales but as an introvert, I find this disruptive. For example, there is a page where you can write to someone to be thankful for but it suggest that you share it. I think this book can be very intimate but the shameless marketing ruins it. I recommend this book to extraverted teens or adults who are into social media. Cute idea but not as helpful as it could be!

I received this book today, but I already know that's it's going to become a go-to activity book/journal/therapy sesh. Full of creative prompts and drawings, with funny and sad existential humor, Pick Me Up is something you're going to thank yourself for purchasing. Adam JK is an artist who is just straight up super talented at his job, whatever his job is.

I really enjoy using some of the worksheets in here with my high school students. The content isn't too young or too old and my students find it pretty fun.

Kurtz does a great job at creating interactive, fun, and thought provoking pages. I don't usually write in books I own, but this one you have to! I love just opening to a page reading the one line of instructions and then going at it. Helpful to get out of a stuck mindset, to move you forward, all the having a bit of fun. Recommended for those who need a bit of a pick me up!

Another great book from Adam J Kurtz! This book has a lot of the prompts that make one page at a time great + new & creative prompts that definitely cheer me up! Fun book for yourself or to give as a gift!

I’ve never been one to finish a self help kind of book. Pick Me Up is so much more than that. It is fun, interactive, and productive all at the same time. It’s the kind of book that reminds us, that we all have struggles, but there’s hope. It reminds us to not take ourselves so seriously all the time. And as the Author reminds us throughout the entire book, we will be Okay. Hands down best book / journal I’ve read / written in. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to uplift their life, ponder, learn about themselves, and laugh. The best part, besides the fun quotes, as you go back, and see the things you wrote, and all your progress you’ve made, you get to erase, and smile at your accomplishments, and then restart as you feel fit. Looking forward to receiving his next book!

This book has the potential to be good, but it really didn't meet my expectations as a book about relationships through the lens of the Enneagram. Suzanne goes through each of the nine types, much like she and Ian did in The Road Back To You, but now the focus seems to be specifically on trouble spots in relationships for the nine types. Each chapter tells a story of how someone unintentionally hurt the ones they love with their own vices or excesses unique to their type. Of course, this type of information can be good and helpful if you're prepared for the fact that it can be, at times, painful to read. But when you're sold a book on relationships, it feels like a shortcut around writing a much longer and more detailed book specifically about the interplay between the types.Bottom line: if you finished The Road Back To You and want to learn more about the ugly side of each of the types, this book is for you. But if you're looking for the interplay between a 4 and a 9, or a 7 and a 2, etc, you'll be disappointed by the lack of content.

Suzanne Stabile is a Master Teacher of the Enneagram, having studied and taught it for many years in a variety of settings and contexts. This accessible book provides a map to healthier and more fulfilling relationships through the lens of the Enneagram. Having some basic knowledge of the Enneagram prior to reading this book would be helpful (I would suggest "The Road Back to You" co-authored with Ian Cron).At the end of each chapter, Stabile has two summary pages: Relationships for Type Numbers and Relationships with Type Numbers. But don't just settle for the summaries. Each chapter is filled with wisdom from Suzanne's life and her interactions with people from all walks of life in all the places of the Enneagram. I found her section in each chapter, "Limitations in Relationships" to be particularly instructive.

This book is very underwhelming in its simplicity, and instructions that one would expect in a hair styles book. I bought this because I thought it was to teach you different men's hairstyles to cut. Not so much. Don't waste your time or money.

I was just looking for information about hairstyles. I am switching from a generic stylist company to an actual barber shop. I am in my mid twenties and am looking to change my style to a more professional look. I found this book useful, because I had no clue what to tell my new barber. I feel a little more confident after reading this book that I will be able go in describe to the barber what I am looking for and get the hair cut that I want. I would recommend this book to other men coming out of college and transitioning into a more professional role or any man just looking to change up his style. Keep up the good work.

I captured the diagrams in this book and showed it to the barber what I would like my hair to be and most of the time they got it right away without confusing conversation that ended up the way you didn't want. It covers mainly only classic and standard styles in which I like. No fancy Korean or boy band styles included. Each style contains description and recommendation on hair type and hair products you should be using. This is good basic information about both Classic hairstyles (like you see on the old photograph charts in rural barber shops) and more modern but common hairstyles---like Redford's hair from the 70's that he seems to go back to all the time. Recommendations as to the formality of the style, i.e. the flat top is seen as informal, are included. Descriptions of "business men" and "Ivy League" help de-mystify cuts for men who have gone to "stylists," etc. Advice is brief on whether to color or not; I graduated in the early 90s when young professionals were darkening or highlighting, for natural appearance, same as their female counterparts. Now, the advice is not to color grey---which is one of the only acceptable reasons I see for color save people in performing arts, public affairs, marketing, or broadcasting. . . if you are prematurely grey, color that stuff! So I disagreed with the advice. There was little discussion about skin, hair, etc. tone; enough to make you want a little more. And no discussion on the anti-grey products or options, pro vs. home. So, I rated it lower than normal. I enjoy most of Antonio's blog and videos; this one was just average, though.

nice book enjoy watching the colors go on

this is a very different coloring book its cute but the faces have a very different and unique look about them I think the whole book is really cute. I love the girls in them and I plan on using them in my art journal as bookmarks or little bits in the background I really love that this is very different from any other coloring book I have super cute and I am so glad I bought it. I have so many coloring books I will never finish them.

This is a classic case of "you can't judge the book by the cover." When I first received this book, I was super disappointed thinking that the cover reflected the content. To my surprise and delight, the images in the book were all SO MUCH BETTER!I am really enjoying this book - it reminds me of the glamorous paper dolls I loved as a kid. The image I've attached reminds me of Rainbow Bright if she grew up with her adoring fan base. I definitely recommend this book and appreciate that I had the opportunity to review this book as part of the Blue Star Coloring book monthly review program.

The paper quality is adequate. The pages are only printed in one side. Minjee Kang coloring book has a fresh artistic style!

Normally clothing stresses me out, but this coloring book does the opposite. I enjoyed coloring so much that I ended up sharing this book with my friend's 13 year old daughter. She also loves the different pictures of dresses and cute outfits. Each picture is an opportunity to be creative.I got this book for free in return for my review. Best deal I ever made! Very interesting book. Wish it had more scenes with models doing something other then pages of just models. Also wish it was perforated.

I liked this much more than I expected to, to be honest. Not really a fashion-conscious person in real life, but these designs are cute and fun. Decent quaility paper (suitable for markers), single-sided and non-perforated pages.

If you are interested in the Peace Corps and/or Malawi, avoid this work. Filled with misspellings and completely lacking in content and depth, this book is a waste of time.

As a Peace Corps volunteer who will be serving in Malawi shortly, I was so excited to get this book for Christmas and I read it right away. Although it was very insightful, brutally honest (ie- I can't even count the number of bowel mentionings), and written in everyday language (this includes multiple grammatical errors), I just can't see why anyone would want to publish a journal such as hers.So yes, if you are interested in the Peace Corps, are in the application process, or already nominated for a certain region, particularly Africa, I would definitely not suggest this book, unless you are 100% sure you want to go and would like to read up on the culture of Malawi and what the PC happenings looks like. If you are looking for motivation or encouragement to go overseas and dive into another culture and way of life, pass on this book.

This book was a colossal waste of space. All she did was complain and write about her trips to the chim. This could have taken place in any Third World country. She completely failed to see any of the beauty or rich culture around her--something I only partially fault her for, the rest of the blame resting the indoctrination Peace Corps refers to as training. This is a neurotic and whiny account of time in a beautiful place, the people of which, though impoverished, have a joy and generosity from which any American, and especially this author, should take a lesson. This book is crap. Don't waste your time with it. Go to Malawi instead and try to not focus on yourself the entire time--though I know this is difficult for Americans.

I was so frsutrated with this book! All Bea does is complain! The bugs, the water, how she slept, her eyes, her age, her energy, the language! Horrible account of her very very short time in the Peace Corps! She doesn't DO anything in the book!

This book badly needed editing once the inexplicable decision was made to publish it. Buckley does not give us a sense of the history of the country, the political situation, environmental problems or anything else connected to Malawi. Most of the text (laden with exclamation points tagging the most trivial observations) is concerned with the author's intestinal problems; thus the claim that the book is about Malawi is misleading and the title should have been "My Truncated Experiences with the Peace Corps in a Generic African Country." Truly a squandered opportunity.

This book claims to take one from the start of a repair job to the finish. In fact it does nothing of the sort. For example. What grit of sandpaper should one start with? How far down should the sanding go? What is the final grit before applying a primer coat? How many coats of primer are appropriate - and how long between coats (maximum and minimum) - and should one sand between coats? What grit of sandpaper should one use on the primer before applying a paint coat? How many paint coats - and how long should one wait in between coats - and should one sand between coats? After the paint is applied, what sandpaper should be used before a clear coat? How many clear coats are appropriate?This is the information a beginner would expect in a book that claims to cover the work "From Prep to Final Coat"!

I have read a number of excellent books from this series and have held off on my review of this book. I found it to be overrun with advertisements and product references. I understand having a few but it was almost as if every sentence was calling out a specific product to be used.Discussions of candy paints, pin striping, etc are of no value to me and should be in a separate book. The title seemed misleading in my opinion as I wanted a very basic and thorough course on paint. The author touches very lightly on a bajillion topics and leaves the reader wanting more on every page. This book taught me nothing other than the author's sponsor list for its creation.
