What a difference a year makes!

A little over thirteen months ago we were looking at this, 18" of fresh fallen snow.

Yesterday I took this picture, also from the living room window. It looks like it could be the first dusting in November, not mid January. Farmers are starting to be concerned about winter kill of hay fields due to lack of snow cover.

Yeah, we've had a "drought" year, too, but ours looks like your first picture! We just got 8-10" yesterday and another 1-2 last night. We're supposed to get more, but I don't know how much. My folks got 24" already!!

At noon Fri we are getting very light snow with maybe 1/4" on the ground. Forecast calls for 1 - 2. But alas... it is butt freezing cold out!

after spending a few winters in TN, we were enjoying the mild winter. but secretly wishing for snow (but not this doggone below zero stuff)
we got about 7" last week, and alittle more today.

This winter has been the strangest that I can remember in a LONG time. I am ready for a good old snow storm!

kids sure are enjoying today's snow. we went ice skating yesterday after everyone left. they are begging me to take them again today, but i'm thinking fire & hot cocoa sounds more enjoyable!!
